The Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University is a tertiary Grade A general hospital that integrates medical treatment, teaching and scientific research.Originally established as Shengxiu Hospital by the French Catholic Church in 1901, the hospital was wholly transferred to the Southwest Railway Engineering Bureau and renamed "Base Hospital" in 1951. It was officially renamed Chengdu Railway Central Hospital under Chengdu Railway Bureau in 1958. In 2004, it was transferred to the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government and listed as a municipal public hospital. In 2010, it was fully affiliated with Chengdu University and officially designated as The Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University.

Covering an area of 48 mu, the hospital has 1,120 approved beds and 1,335 in-service open beds.
